KATHRINA MICCIO Painter
is a painter, native New Yorker, and part time resident of Vico Equense, Italy. Miccio’s background in the arts is a life long study and love for the visual expression.
Miccio’s 6 year’s of college earned her a Bachelor of Fine Arts , and Theater, and Education Degree from Wagner College, New York. Her first exhibit received notable recognition at “The Fine Art Gallery” at Wagner College.
Kathrina was asked to exhibit a show at "The Gibson Guitar Showroom Gallery" in New York. She named it Gibson Masters. It was a tremendous success with a nearly sold out show, and it was a star-studded night. Some guests included Actors James Gandolfini, Federico Castelluccio, Analyze That's Raymond Franza, American Idol's Constantine Maroulis, and New York Dolls Steve Conte. “Gibson Masters” received rave reviews from “The New York Daily News.” Miccio was honored at the “Artist of The Year Award Show”, and was showcased with an article in “Talent in Motion Magazine” 2007 and “The Long Island Exchange” in Cognacs Corner for her
Gibson Masters show.
She exhibited her Italian portraits and landscapes at “Salmagundi Club Art Exhibit – New York – "Visioni" (invited artist)”, juried show in New York City, September 2004. Miccio’s paintings have been featured on “Joan Rivers: A Piece of Work”, TV documentary. Soprano’s Dominic Chianese documentary for HBO, FX “Rescue Me” with Denis Leary, “Love Monkey” with Tom Cavanaugh, “Top Model” with Tyra Banks, and The Movie, “Make Me Blush”.
She was interviewed and featured on “I Love My Job” TV 2007, “METV”2007, and “METRO NY”2005.Her Painting of Ray Charles was featured in Marc Bego’s Book “The Biography of Billy Joel”, pictured with Billy Joel’s daughter “Alexa Ray Joel”. Kathrina then went on to meet Billy Joel at The Cutting Room when she was asked to paint a portrait of him when he performed there for a private show.

The artist’s work is in numerous private and corporate collections including those of actors the late James Gandolfini, Whoopi Goldberg, recording artist Andrea Bocelli, The Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson, Real-estate Developer Nino Vendome, and Interior Designer Marianne Stern.Miccio has had many one-person shows, and is presently preparing for 3 installations of new work, one at the very prestigious, "National Arts Club" New York City, and was recently asked another at the "Fender Guitar" showroom in Los Angeles CA, and exhibited 3 shows at the new "SM Gallery" in Coney Island, NY.Presently over 20 portraits are seen as a permanent installation on the “Kat Walk” of The Cutting Room music Venue NYC. Owned by Steve Walter and Actor Chris Noth. “The Faces of Music Collection II” 2001-present. Recently she was asked to paint a portrait of Ronnie Wood of the Rolling Stones since he was performing there. He quoted, “Wow, that’s quite good, isn’t it?” Ronnie Wood liked it so much, he signed the back. Miccio’s portraits that hang at the “Kat Walk” include rock musicians and jazz legends, ranging from Billy Joel, Eric Clapton, Keith Richards, Bob Dylan, Ray Charles and Louis Armstrong to name a few. She has been featured in The Huffington Post for her Ronnie Wood Painting, and Manhattan Sideways for her Faces of Music Collection 2014.Kathrina appears as a featured mural artist in the March 2014 NBC Nate Berkus "AMERICAN DREAM BUILDERS" show.Her murals and paintings have also appeared in restaurants such as “Lusso”, SOHO NYC, and “Johnnies” in the Theater District, NYC, and many private homes.
Miccio primarily works in oil, acrylic, mixed media and watercolor. I believe that working in a single medium is restrictive to my artistic process. Each idea manifests in its own individual style.
